I was never a big TV-watcher or radio-listener, so I assumed podcasts weren't for me. However, I decided to give it a go after AI2 (specifically Waleed Ammar and Matt Gardner) launched a podcast called NLP Highlights, in which they discuss an interesting NLP paper every few days.
Surprisingly, I've found that I really enjoy listening to bite-sized pieces (10-15 minutes) of research-based conversation, especially since I find it hard to find people to discuss papers with. It's the perfect sort of content for a morning commute or over a meal.
In this vein, I've also gotten around to catching up on Philip Guo's PG Vlogs, in which he talks about whatever things (mostly professional) are on his mind. Similarly, he has a series of longer PG Podcasts in which he just chats with a range of people about various topics. In particular, I'd recommend the PG Podcast with Jean Yang, wherein they talk about their strategies and thoughts on time management.
If you have any other academically-focused podcasts or video series that you enjoy, I'd love to hear about them in the comments!
